- Brad ZickafooseOctobre 23, 2014One of the best places in DC for a concert. If you're taking the Metro there, check the Metro closing hours before you leave home to ensure you don't miss the last train home after the show.
- Locals: Sign up for Friends With Benefits. Points given for buying tix, scanning card at door, food, drinks. 1000 points gets you a free ticket to The Anthem. Fewer points has great prizes as well.
- Al CarrollJuillet 27, 2015Has some of the best live acts, from the Pietasters to Public Enemy. The balcony has some of the best views and the only places to sit, but you have arrive early for them.
- Brooke HardingMars 23, 2019Best music venue in DC! Do yourself a favor and get a 9:30 club cupcake at the coffee bar in the balcony level. You won’t regret it!
- Matt DickerDécembre 24, 2013Bob Dylan has played three shows here, two in 1997 and one in 2004. Other greats to have graced the stage include Radiohead, the Beastie Boys, Adele, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- JavienOctobre 31, 2016Went to see LANY & Transviolet here. Great show. There is a room where you can view all of the records and cds of artists who have performed there. They also have non-alcoholic beer
- Daniya TamendarovaDécembre 29, 2013Great energy! This is the view from the bar at the back. There are some seats on the balcony (get here about half an hour early for that) but it is more fun to be part of the crowd by the stage
- Design*SpongeAoût 3, 2014One of the best and most intimate venues for seeing live music in town. For thirty years and counting – the 9:30 Club has brought the best local, indie and international bands to DC. En savoir plus
- Best club best shows regardless what everybody else claims best staff need I say more upstairs viewing and bar floor bar just an all around great place for shows!!
- Melissa GoodnightDécembre 21, 2016Really cool place for a show. Try to get there early for the upstairs stools. Overall, very fun! Bathrooms were also very clean (at least early on).
- The best club in town for live music, bar none. Coffee bar upstairs if you need a pick-me-up, along with seating. Love this place.
- Of A RevolutionFévrier 29, 2012Best seat in the house: along the railing in the balcony towards the center. Best place to eat nearby: Ben's Chili Bowl (try the 1/2 smoke all the way w/ cheese fries to share). - Richard On of O.A.R.
- Mike AlvaradoDécembre 11, 2014Awesome venue. Overall best music going experience I have ever had in terms of getting drinks, food, merch, coat check, and music was LOUD but good sound.
- Cupcake CrusadersMars 20, 2013Did you know that the 9:30 Club carries cupcakes from Buzz Bakery? They do! Check out our review: http://cupcakecrusaders.com/2013/03/20/rockin-the-930-club-cupcakes/
- Christopher PopovJuillet 6, 2016Wonderful venue with great sound. It's easy to let the music carry you away at this hip heaven of superb music
- Ben GAoût 8, 2014The club where I spent my youth and got to experience live music the way it should be. Continues to be the standard bearer for mid-size venues on the East Coast.
- I love the place everything about it been going there since it was at it's older location and to this day kept going they've never disappointed
- Lauren RossettoAoût 9, 2012Just saw the Bosstones show here last night and was very impressed with the place. The view from the balcony was top notch, one of the best music venues I've ever been to!
- Best spot ever. Reasonable beer prices, and right next to the Civil War Memorial metro. There's a little Ethiopian Restaurant across the street with great food and beer specials. Highly recommend.
- Arrive early to get the best spots (front and center, obviously!)
- M Squared Real EstateSeptembre 6, 2011If you wanna have a drink before the show or escape the crowd, sneak down to the back bar (down the stairs before you get to the bathrooms.) It's like a secret bar - never packed, cool space.
- David KingMai 25, 2013Contrary to most reviews they did indeed have seats for the Chris Hardwick comedy show. Still first come first serve for the best seats.
- Brightest Young ThingsOctobre 27, 2010Quite possibly the best venue in the world, go see a show here on a Sunday night. Sometimes the bands are amazing and the crowd isn't overwhelming.
- travel42Août 3, 2011This is an excellent live music venue. Every seat is a good seat! There's also a small bar in the basement (where it's rumored that some performers hang out after their shows!).
- Independent local venue brings in top acts. Decent views all around, but best views go fast. Don't worry about food if you're in a rush: they have great food at good prices. This is why I moved to DC.
- Rajkamal Sandhu®Décembre 9, 2013Had a great time here. The parking lot behind the venue is great but small. And it is a little expensive for the parking itself. I wish it was included in the cost of the ticket...
- Try to get a spot leaning on/standing in front of the balcony facing the stage. Perfect view and sound.
- If you want quick drinks, head to the downstairs bar. It's way quieter, and the service is great!
- I love going to concerts here! Good beer selections. All the good artists. Convenient location.
- Worthy SheepJuillet 1, 2012If you arrive early you can walk around to the side and there is a set of stairs that leads down to 9:30's basement bar with easy access to the main stage room.
- Lynn MortonOctobre 23, 2017Great shows, a venue that is a DC staple. Beer is a little pricey. Food is decent considering it's a club.
- Teri RushkaMai 13, 2013Great venue and great crowd. For my Philly friends, imagine a cross between UT and World Cafe Live (downstairs)
- Carolina EscobarJanvier 31, 2015This place is SO cozy. You really feel close to the stage and get an awesome experience.
- best place for music in the city. since you're so close to american ice company, stetsons and nellie's, be sure to pop into one for pre-gaming bevs.
- Getting tickets from the box office directly is way cheaper - no fees!
- Get here early to get one of the very limited cupcakes they have each night! You will NEVER regret it!
- MazdaOctobre 25, 2010Founded by Dody DiSanto and Jon Bowers, the 9:30 Club was the home for alternative music in D.C. during the early 1980s and was a regular stopping point for bands touring the east coast.
- My favorite music venue in DC. I usually arrive an hour after the doors open. That's often just about the time the opening act hits the stage.
- Check out their contests for free ticket giveaways on their listserv -- if you follow them on Facebook or Twitter and comment first, you can score some sold out seats!
- VH1Juillet 22, 2010Get there a little early and settle in. My favorite spot is on the floor toward the back because it sounds the best. Just grab a beer, a cupcake, and enjoy! – Civil Twilight
- NO PHOTO/NO VIDEO policy sure doesn't look strict to me...... 9:30 is lax on hacks but still hassles pros. As camera tech gets higher on smart phones the rules will inevitably have to change....
- Chris Ann MatteoAoût 9, 2013Parking here is easier than you think! Buy parking with TicketFly. Lot is just north of the club (behind the building) on 9th Street
- Molly CushingAoût 16, 2014Great venue. If you don't feel like standing, balcony seating is an option, but fills up fast.
- Andrew WetzelFévrier 25, 20129:30 burger is killer. Super clean venue. Friendly staff. If your band plays here, don't be a jerk and they'll take care of you.
- The FeastJuin 9, 2011There's not a bad sightline here, but we enjoy watching concerts from the upstairs balcony. Show up early to get one of these sought-after spots.
- Jason KyleFévrier 16, 2012We saw The Dismemberment Plan here back in January '11. Was a great venue, not really a bad view in the house and acoustics were great.
