Sandy beach & pretty warm water temperature compared with some other beaches on the island. If you rent umbrellas and chairs (€3) then you have access to free wi-fi -priceless service. Good taverna.
It is where the famous Pythagoreion statue is. There is a port for ferries to Kusadasi. It is where the private yachts dock. Expensive touristy area. Lots of restaurants&bars lined up along the water,
Outşetshopping , especially good sports clothes shopping. The prices are fairly decent. Little out of the way of the”centers” - there is public transportation. Outdoor shopping.
I always stay in Kokkari. The beach is all pebbles and the sea temperature cold. Quite a few souvenir shops. Very active night life with great tavernas and bars right on the water.
There is not too much written information on the history or grape varieties )muscat most popular). Basically a self guided tour. The stone museum building is quite nice. Free wine tasting at the end.
quite large low cost super market, well organized and spacioıs. Have to pay €1 for the shopping cart which you get back when you return. Closed for siesta which I find unbelievable. Car park available

Magnificent woodwork inside. The mihrab of Arslanhane Mosque is considered one of the most original elements of the Seljuk Period in Anatolia.
The Ahi Elvan Mosque built in late 14th century. The main attraction is its unusual mimber, (pulpit). The interior is mostly wooden. The twelve wooden columns supporting the ceiling are incredible.
The mosque in the city centre was built by Tavil Ahmet Ağa in 1884. Really love the minaret’s architecture - just look up
Oftan you can spot Okay Temiz, the s a leading Turkish fusion jazz percussionist and drummer sitting outside
The best local restaurant for meatballs and lamb chops. Simply delicious and frequented by the locals, inexpensive. My personal recommendation
Central location in old town square, five minute walk to the tram. Super clean and friendly service. Not cheap, the interior is very “ottoman”
You can choose the meat you would like and they will cook it for you. The soups are good, Clean. Good quality stop along the highway on the way to Istanbul
Best way yo cross the Dardanelles Strait by car - a return ticket costs TL 67 and takes about 10 mins - the ferry takes off when it is full
Tıflı in Arabic apparently means “child”. It was built by Sultan II. Abdülhamit in 1892 and I simply loved the pinkish interior.
A memorial to the soldiers who perished during the Dardanelles Battle - walking along the tombstones and realizing how young they were is heartbreaking
It is beyond words in July and August when sunflowers are in bloom and it is so scenic - piece of art
This small shop makes the best “cheese dessert” in town. Definitely recommend it
Kilitbahir means "Key to the Sea." Built on the plan of a five-leaf clover to defend the Dardanelles Strait & the Ottoman Empire. It is protected by the army and not open to public
One of the symbols of Istanbul, it was once a watch tower and a prison, now you can go up to get an aerial view of Istanbul - lift up to a certain point then have to walk up two flights of stairs.
Time apparently stopped the day the owner’s father (founder) died - one side of the shop is still full of goods that were in the store then and are not for sale. Great nostalgia - so crammed yet fun
