Heaven on 7 is a legendary restaurant in Chicago. That's because flavors in each dish are amazing, service is fantastic, and it is FUN! Treat yourself and a friend and go there and experience this!
TT 8 Southern Places Outside South: Cajun restaurant; opened as a coffee shop, but customers couldn't get enough of the gumbo; 17 po'boys, platters of fried seafood; portion sizes are generous
The Bitches Say: A. Come here for no frills, all fun, and darn delicious Cajun brunch cuisine, stay for the hurricanes and Bloody Marys. Come again for Jimmy Bannos, because he is just a gem. En savoir plus
I love the deboration and atmosphere of this place. Pure soul food and Cajun creole cuisine from NOLA. I recommend the fried green tomatos, jambalaya, and shrimp Po' Boy.
The jambalaya is one of my favorite comfort foods (w a cup o' gumbo, of course). The LSD (Louisiana Soul Deluxe) is great, too. Go during Thanksgiving week to get a turkey dinner unlike any other!
Absolutely loved the gumbo! I think my taste buds are completely shot, tho; the shrimp linguini was really good, but the Angry Sauce (supposedly the hottest) was nothing ...
This is chili for the purist — Texas-style, which means no beans; it's all about the meat. Dubbed "Texas Roadhouse," it's dense and savory with shredded pork and shredded and ground beef. En savoir plus
Chummy seventh-floor Loop lunch spot renowned for its gumbos thicker than quicksand and po’ boys rich in breaded oysters, shrimp, and catfish. En savoir plus
Order chicken fried steak. If you're fish/shellfish allergic like me, the chicken & andouille sausage gumbo is a tasty substitute for any of the gumbos w/shrimp w/out feeling like you're missing out.
My Southern oasis in the city! I come here whenever I need to unwind at lunch. The red beans and rice are to die for, and the restaurant is unlike anything else in the loop.
Good food, been around a long time, this is the original location which serves better food than the chain locations. The Gumbo is what everyone goes there for, so give it a try.
