Good espresso drinks, natural light from giant floor-to-ceiling windows, and plenty of seating.
This West Village Starbucks is the best one in the city I've found for settling down for some work.
Can get touristy and loud, but the drinks are great and there's tons of room. Only drawback: outlets are only at the bar, so make sure you come fully charged if you want to use your comp at a table.
One of the only decent places in Alphabet City I've found to do work. A little hippie dippie. Bring headphones if you're trying to focus.
