- Beth BondJuillet 13, 2018We were told to visit the Chinese Gardens over the Japanese. They were exquisite! We can't imagine anything better. Beautiful vignettes with lots of great info on Chinese culture. Totally worth it!
- Sara JoyJuin 29, 2017About the size of a city block and really beautiful. They have a great little tea house that is nice to sit down for an afternoon snack and enjoy the garden.
- Jasmine RaShaeDécembre 27, 2014Serene. Love it! Make sure to go shake the container/pull the stick to get your fortune out of the drawer. - you can take the guided tour or wander.. I enjoyed doing a mix of bothA voté pour il y a Sep 24
- Design*SpongeAoût 3, 2014Small, but if you’re here during peony season, you’ll never forget it. Try a pot of tea in the teahouse while you admire their ability to make such a small, urban space feel secluded and calm. En savoir plus
- Colleen LemkuilJuillet 12, 2018This place everyone should go see!! We ate at the restaurant and it was great. We went on the tour. We saw great flowers and plants. It was clean and the restrooms were great.
- Ashley CarterDécembre 10, 2012Knowledgeable tour guide! Lots of info to hear, as well as beautiful architecture, trees and flowers to see. I could stay for hours! Stop in and get a bite to eat or some tea too!
- Meah BFévrier 11, 2015Beautiful garden with a lovely history. Be sure to join the tour group when visiting to really understand all that the garden has to offer.
- meredith kerekesOctobre 6, 2014Best place to spend a contemplative afternoon. Grab some tea (oolong is best) and enjoy the view.
- GNTLMNFévrier 19, 2014In 1999, 65 people brought rocks and wood from Portland's sister city Suzhou, here to build this 40,000 sq ft., peaceful Suzhou-style garden in Portland's Chinatown. http://www.lansugarden.org
- Angelica DongalloJuillet 15, 2014Apparently more buildings than the Japanese garden. Check out the tea house and get free admission from the PDX library!
- DustinAoût 22, 2016Walk around the small but beautiful grounds, have tea in the tea shop on site. Maybe the 3-tea wild growing tasting menu.
- James AndrewJuillet 12, 2016Worth checking out, and definitely stop and get some tea and delicious snacks!
- Jane van SchaardenburgAoût 16, 2013Excellent information about Chinese gardens, & living. Beautiful, tranquil - even after living in the Far East, I've learned a lot here today.
- Buy a membership because the tranquility is intoxicating a decent tea house but when you ask for a tea cold you shouldn't receive a mass market bottled tea
- Joel D'AlessandroJuillet 19, 2012bring your zen, chi and tranquility! wonderfully serene place right in the middle of downtown Portland
- Trisha D.Août 8, 2014The gift shop has some nice, inexpensive items. I got a beautiful reusable tote bag.
- HISTORYAvril 22, 2010The garden opened in 2000. Most of the plants featured in the garden are indigenous to China, but no plants were brought from China due to import bans. Some plants in the garden are 100 years old.
- Become a member. It's worth it. Pine of the best $55 I've ever spent.
- K12 IncJuin 14, 2011Did you know? China’s 31,000 native plants, some of which can be found nowhere else on Earth, represent nearly 1/8th of the world’s total plant species.
- Craig McKenneySeptembre 27, 2011Beautiful! A must-see if you're in Portland. The staff was also very nice/ friendly.
- Janet JohnsonDécembre 6, 2009Tea at the tea house in the Chinese Garden is a great place to have either a quiet meeting or just feel swept away for a moment.
- Jack FanDécembre 18, 2010If you've got 90 minutes to spare (and won't rush thru the tea experience) then opt for the tea flights. Otherwise start with a single serving (gaiwan) before attempting the tea ceremony.
- Waylon SpodenAvril 3, 2010This is a great place to find quiet within the PDX downtown. My tip is to skip the food in the Tao of Tea - it is great but small portions and slow as molasses.
- Jack FanDécembre 18, 2010Join the mahjong society at the scholar's hall for the occasional pick up game. Good for beginners.
