Formerly Banjo Jim's, and now a fancy cocktail bar, the Wayland does not disappoint with excellent cocktails. They even have some vestiges of the old live music joint in the corner of the bar.

Upstate has 6 oysters & a beer for $12 on M-F for happy hour. These aren't just Bluepoints, either. Great staff and a solid beer selection. Most importantly, an impressive selection of oysters.

There is no better lunch spot in Long Island City. We love the daily soup/sandwich combo along with the mac n cheese of the day. Definitely worth the trip out to LIC.
