One of our favorite NY things to do is have cocktails after work on the roof of the Metropolitan, and take in the best views of Central Park. Open through late fall. Closed on Mondays.

The bird’s eye views of Times Square are jawdroppingly spectacular. However, the bouncers, waitstaff, prices and antiquated elevators ruin the entire experience.
This rooftop is one of the most romantic spots in the city. We’re especially fond of their literary-themed drinks like the Tequila Mockingird or Jackie Collins.
This spacious rooftop bar has great views but the outrageously expensive drinks, ambivalent servers, rude bouncers and extremely loud music totally turned us off.
We’re suckers for reclaimed wood décor and a relaxed atmosphere, but not big fans of drinks in plastic cups, overly loud music and the less than stellar city views.
Each floor has its own distinct feel – we recommend going straight up to the third floor beer hall style rooftop and enjoying a tavern burger and a few craft beers.
For the best experience, go at night, the lights of the city are spectacular. Come after a broadway show and enjoy a cocktail or two, a burger and the pork buns.
The perfect rooftop escape that is still manages to be a well-kept secret. On the 14th floor of the La Quinta hotel serving outdoor drinks and views of the Empire State Building.

The rooftop is over the top sexy, full of model types and serves really potent drinks. It’s a bit snobby and the “pool” is laughable and we’ll be coming back!
Whether it is hot or cold, sunny or rainy, the rooftop is our favorite tropical oasis in the city. Go on Wednesday night for their rooftop BBQ for 8 bucks.
Expect long lines and expensive drinks – although we love the Bloody Mother. However, you’ll be rewarded with fantastic 360-degree views and, maybe, a dip in the pool.
