There are really few walks as romantic as the one to Grótta. You could have unforgettable moments away from the downtown. But don't forget the island is only reachable when the tide is low.

The town is known for its greenhouses, which are heated by hot water from volcanic hot springs.
Impressive waterfall only accessible off road. Strong wind made eyes water and pushed us back up the hill.
Definitely take the path behind the waterfall – exhilarating! Expect to get wet. Start from the right – a little easier climb. And be careful: The whole path can get pretty slippery.
In cold day (8 degrees) the water is not really warm. It's like 25 degrees. But still have fun. It's better to have flip flop because the floor outside swimming pool is very cold and dirty (ash)

Drive slow, it will seem like forever when you're on 15-20kmh. The wreck is also hidden by the sand dune. For a different perspective, try to take the silhouette of the plane
Walk all the way out to the lighthouse. It's a steep hike, but the view is unbelievable. And you might see some puffins
The best thing my eyes have ever experienced. Huge waves from the Atlantic Ocean crashing on the black sand beaches as far as the eye can see.
Beautiful little town. Don't miss Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach and watch out for the waves, they can be very dangerous.
Very nice and cool place. Beautiful basalt colony end wonderful beats. But By careful of the weather, the waves can by dangerous ( deadly), Never turn the back to the water.
The lamb in their restaurant is awesome. If possible, get a room towards the inner yard, then you get access to their hot tubs via your bathroom!
From the camp site in Skaftafell, 30 minute walk through Giljastígur to Svartifoss, which translates to “Black Falls”, a waterfall which is one of the main attractions of Skaftafell National Park.
The mindblowing glaciers, craters, lakes and geysers are breathtaking by day, but when night falls, the area becomes one of the best places to witness the aurora borealis.
Much smaller lagoon but therefore the glacier is much closer. Very impressive. Road is pretty bad. In summer there's a tour operator offering boat tours.
Jökulsárlón was the location used for filming of the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish Vs Jaguar XKR car chase sequence in Die Another Day (2002). Filming required 30cm thick ice and lasted 3 weeks. En savoir plus .
