The restaurant from the smallest town in the competition won a unanimous, landslide victory Sunday in the "Best New York Burger" contest at the New York State Fair.The South Trenton Pub, in Barneveld (population 332), won the top prize for its creation, the "8-Pointer Burger."Owners and chefs Ralph and Karen Dittenhoefer concocted a burger that started with an 8-ounce ground Angus chuck patty, layered with a compound cream cheese (with sour cream and lime), two slices of melted Jalapeno & Peppadew Cheese (from Yancey's Fancy Artisan Cheese) and slices of fresh avocado, bacon, red onion and lettuce. It's served on a 5-inch French roll.
