Now the home of the Hyatt Regency hotel, Goat Island was once the site of the Fort George and the Naval Torpedo Station during the Revolutionary War.
The lodge is built on the former site of the Atlantic Hotel, which was leased by the Navy from 1861-1865 to house the United States Naval Academy before it relocated to Annapolis during the Civil War.
