This place is not built to support the amount of tourism Iceland is experiencing. Arrive well in advance of your flight - the passport control line will be very long.

Can't say enough good things about the ISK exchange kiosk. No commissions, fair spreads and super convenient. Wait to get your ISK once you land.

Fast check-in, fast security check. The main area is filled with nice shops, good restaurants and everywhere there's a nice relaxing feeling.

Lots of shops to go to! Even has a blue lagoon shop where you can buy the face masks and lotion. Free WiFi as well

La zona dei Check-in è un po' piccola e vuota e c'è un piccolo Kaffi, utile per le attese. Superati i controlli la zona degli imbarchi sembra tutto un altro aeroporto è piena di ristoranti e negozi.

Really chilled airport, went really quick through security and there are plenty of places to eat and drink during the day but unfortunately not that many in the evening/night

In a transit to/from USA. Stop by in the Inspired By Iceland shop and get some delicious Icelandic candy for your friends back home or the not so awesome Brennivín for your enemies, an Icelandic snaps

Go to LOKSINS bar for some great draft beer. One in the main hall and another one down by the D gates (post passport control). If you are a smoker, you can bring your drink to the smoking area nearby.

Modern airport. Crowded but clean. There’s a post box near odd-size baggage acceptance at check-in, or another at the food court after security. 📮📮

Nice compact airport but gets VERY busy when all the transatlantic flights come in and people transfer to the European short haul legs.

If you have a unlocked phone, get a sim card with prepaid 3G Internet. Don't get it at the airport, they only have vodaphone. Get a card from Siminn in the city. 1090 (8$) for 1gb of mobile data.

Very clean, quick check-in, but during holidays like between Christmas and New Years there's less staff, so can be slow

Stop by Joe & The Juice (before security) for REALLY good sandwiches. The tunacado is excellent.

ATTN: Cars rented from any of the car rental companies at the airport need to be filled up before return. The gas station at the airport DOES NOT WORK so fill it up or risk penalties!

They don't let you sleep inside the airport. Not even in the chairs. Try to come here as closest as you can of your boarding time.

Don't worry if you didn't buy all your souvenirs. There is a big duty free shop and it's surprisingly decent-priced.

A small airport with limited shops or food court. It needs to be renovated. However, the best and the most friendly "tax return" staff.

Dawn your jackets when you land at KEF, you have to walk on the tarmac to the shuttle bus. Automated check in bag drop weight limit is very strict. No weighing machine for the baggage.
