I could come here just for the Mala peanuts (also complimentary during HH). The food is top notch and you can pick the level of spiciness — go for spicy. Great service too!

Gorgeous spicy dry hot pot. Come in a big group (there's a table for 10 in the back) & split a couple bowls. Also order: husband & wife lung slices and the pig's ear in chilli oil!

The glass/potato noodles are a must as they absorb more sauce which become more flavorful. Beef tendon is also my fav! If you're well practiced for spiciness def try the Super Spicy option.

Such delicious dry hot pot! The fish was fantastic, it was so seriously so delicious. I highly recommend the glass noodles and sweet potatoes. This is my new favorite place!!!

Lot of food for the price, and the spicing is fantastic. Do get chicken thigh, broccoli, don't get: prawns (shelled, don't absorb flavors), taro (pieces too large)

Named after the Chinese phenomenon of ma la (“numbing and spicy”), the restaurant’s starring dish is a variation on Chongqing-hailing dry pot, a stir-fry-like spread built with a choice of 52 add-ins En savoir plus

Spicy, tingly, and oh so damn good. Order a spicy dry pot stir fry with any ingredients you choose (fish fillets and lotus root are favorites) and enjoy the unusual burn of the meal

Spam, Beef Tendon and Sweet Potato are def worth trying for the dry pot. Also the Savory Egg Custard is good to balance out the spiciness of the pot. The back room is very large party friendly!

This is a place to experiment. Pick a theme sea or land and go nuts with the choices. Do not forget to add noodles and vegetables to your bowl.

the dry hotpot is legit (also veg-friendly). spiciness levels are solid - we usually get mild and that's plenty spicy for us. feel free to get the next few levels up if you're feeling brave.

Dry pots were awesome, but for a chili head, the super spicy could have been spicier. Need to go back and sample some of the more adventurous dry pot items.

Only problem here is deciding on ingredients for your dry hot pot. The sauce is delicious if a little shy on málà. Next time I’ll try super spicy.

Spicy means spicy. 3-4 items is enough for solo eating. Getting +1 dim sum means you're taking a doggie bag.

Love the background music, the queen of Chinese pop, Teresa Teng! Food is tasty and perfect for spice lovers. The spicy level is very very spicy, I had a real case of numb mouth hot ears runny nose.
  • Kendal C.
Careful - spicy means SPICY! Four ingredients is enough for your hot pot but if you’re extra hungry, go for five.

Great dry pot (get glass noodles, avoid dried gluten ball, they were like pieces of tire, couldn't eat them). Get the peanuts. Spicy is plenty spicy. Service is great on refilling your water glass! 🌶

Awesome dry pot, but be wary of ordering "spicy". I pride myself on having a high spicy tolerance, but omg spicy dry pot is too much. Get mild and then if you want it spicer, ask for it

Definitely eat here if you can, but also take advantage of the takeout. Way way better than anything else in the area for a quick dinner to go.

MaLa Dry Pot that you can't find anywhere else! The only place in New York that uses real spices instead of packaged condiments. Tons of flavor. Can't wait for my next visit

Cheap for the quantity - get 4 if you're hungry, 3 if you're on a diet. The dry hot pot comes with rice, so consider if you want to order glass or potato noodles, might end up being redundant.
