Way easier to navigate than the Met proper, plus the Met Breuer focuses on modern art. If I only have a limited amount of time to spend in a museum, I would rather go here than anywhere else!
don't love that exterior, and the space seems exceedingly amenable to the material therein, which might or might not be to your taste--really strong Kerry James Marshall exhibit
The Met's attempt to showcase its contemporary art in the space that once housed the some of the best in American modern and contemporary falls flat. The opening two shows do not signal bold curation.
Loved the James Marshall and Merz exhibit. Merz was whimsical Italian and Marshall. This one is smaller than the full-on Met. Google gets free passes. Long lines, great coffee shop/res downstairs.
Frans Halz, Turner, Rembrandt, Van Gogh's unfinished works. Must start with 4th floor and work down. They have blue bottle coffee too! Download Met app &listen to audio explanations. Must visit.
Diane Arbus "In the Beginning": The exhibition features more than 100 photographs that together redefine Diane Arbus (1923–1971), one of the most influential & provocative artists of the 20th century.
Don't waste your time & money getting an audio guide device. Bring your own headphones and go to metmuseum.org/audioguide for the tour via the free wifi.
