Well worth taking the 30-minute $5 guided tour. Climb the steeple stairs to the bell chamber where teenage Paul Revere worked, and walk through the crypt to view the 37 tombs below the church floors. En savoir plus

Before it became famous as the site of “one if by land, two if by sea,” most of the parishioners of the Old North Church were loyalists; in fact, the King gave the church the silver used at services.

So, very very cool place. Interesting the way people used to worship in their own little cubicles. Parking is HORRIBLE! Do not go during after school hours....you will NOT find a place to park!

The church bells, the oldest in America, came from England and date from 1744. They were restored in 1894 and again in 1975.

Contrary to claims, Paul Revere was never a church member, his family was Congregationalist. But he was a bell-ringer here as a young man - the church still has the contract signed by him in 1750.

If you take the tour, there are two flights of thin crickety stairs to go up and back down. Be careful of that.
