Check in online to avoid unnecessary queueing especially when you're reaching the airport just in time. You don't need to print out your boarding pass, save the environment, ise your mobile soft copy.

The new parking bay can be tricky to reach. You have to drive through an underpass not far from international arrivals to turn aroun. It is right before terminal one and easy to miss.

Uber driver canceling on you? Prefer lyft overseas? Try Little Cab, Kenya's locally owned uber competitor. Their cars (are supposed) to come with free Wifi but payment is cash or M-Pesa (mobile money)

The airport is fine overall, some people might criticize the Arrivals which is in a parking due to the old one being renewed. There are multiple café's, and duty free shops.Terminal 1 is the best

Costs Ksh. 280 ($3.5) for 12-24 hours parking. If it's a day trip, drive yourself to the airport. Park in the 1st or 2nd parking bay on your right and pay when you leave. Cheaper than a cab! Do it.

Prepare for longer queues on Sundays compared to rest of the week. Same number of planes, much fewer staff. Everything takes longer, security, check in, immigration etc

The washrooms at JKIA are a joke, and too tiny to accommodate even 5 pple. Term 1A is laughable. Don't be surprised if you get in, and find no water at all. Whoever runs JKIA has a lot of work to do.

Upgraded my rating- new international terminal is comfortable, clean, with Java, working multi-currency ATM, good security etc.

If being picked up at the new (circa June 2016) terminal for international arrivals you can wait in the parking lot right outside it or move to the passenger pickup point by the main exit road.

So, with the new terminal 1A it can be confusing to get around or get to your point of departure. Parking is a bitch! I drove for half an hour looking for a spot. They have friendly support staff.

Free WiFi with limited time connectivity..... Roads leading to airport and city are always jam packed... So always take extra precaution.... Only two places for foodies..... Beer is available at both.

When departing on Kenya Airways be prepared to go through 3 full security checks. A bit ridiculous.

Is it cheaper for you to leave your car at the airport? Costs Ksh. 700 ($8) for every day (+24 hours) at the airport. Might be cheaper than a cab fare to and from the airport. You do the math. :)

The New Kenya Airways terminal is beautiful a good step ahead! WiFi would be a good addition.

Post-Fire Tip: For International Departures gates 3, 4 and 5 are in use. You go through passport checks, up the stairs and you'll find them in use with a coffee shop, modest duty free and seating.

Post-Fire Tip: For International Arrivals you want to go to the Syokimau Parking aka The State Pavilion. There you'll find the exit, passengers, taxis and people who can assist.

Be careful when paying for parking and dilly dallying. The price goes up every hour (if you did short term parking) so validate your ticket at arrivals near the coffee shop to guarantee a good rate.

I despise when this is done but it is a tip if you are pressed for time. Immigration staff are lax about which line you queued in. So titles like Kenyans, East Africa, COMESA don't mean as much.🙄😕😉

If you transit here you have to go to 2 security gates, take off shoes, laptops... twice, then if u have a chance to go to the lounge or buy any water at the shop you are not allowed to bring them in

My first tip would be to NOT book anything with KQ, and if you must come to NBO, just choose any line at customs, doesn’t matter, it will take 2 hours no matter how much traffic.

Queues in Unit 2 can be legendary. To save time clear immigration in Unit 1 but only if you have checked in online, have a printed boarding pass and are travelling with hand luggage only.

New terminal tip: customs are tighter about inspecting luggage and those with declarations to make. If you have nothing to declare or travel light just walk through but comply if asked to stop.

Huge airport with long distances to gates. Very friendly staff at check in counters. Duty free shops are not that great and expensive.

New international arrivals terminal seems quicker with luggage and passport control. The new building is opposite the old makeshift arrivals terminal that was actually a parking garage.

New vehicle checkpoint is really good. Need to integrate vehicle ticketing and also, passengers shouldn't have to alight to be frisked
