Victor Harbor - wkends & pub hols are best. Horsedrawn tram to island or walk. Walk around island (rug up). Seals & dolphins; fairy penguins (dusk). Fave: balmy summer's night with full-moon over bay.
German tourist village with great craft & gift shops either side of the main street. Parking can be a problem on pub hols & wkends. Need good "legs" & be prepared to buy lots. Not wheelchair friendly.
Great for a relaxed day, weekend or week in warmer months. It's located on the Murray River, so bring bathers &/or watercraft. Best drive from Adelaide is scenic route via Chain of Ponds & Birdwood.
Mannum on the Murray River - a great place to relax along the water's edge with a bbq or picnic, or frolic in the water. Visit the museum or pre-book a ride on the old paddleboat PS Murray Princess .
Famous beach & shopping street. Catch the tram or drive (but parking can be difficult.) So much to do at the beach. Pretty. Shops open every day - only place that is. Historic beach. Can be overated.
