Great night out at this downtown LA spot. Live bands or burlesque on different nights. Street parking available nearby on weekdays which is when the best shows are and weekends are crowded.
Rooms vary in themes. Leather club chairs, lush draperies & dramatic iron candelabras combine with factory steel in this steampunk alternate reality. For cocktails try The Mistress ($14). En savoir plus
It is my most favorite bar, when it comes for cocktail and ambience the first name on my mind, is the Edison only...I'm sure next time I am throwing a huge classy party there, it’s a worth place!
This place is a must to try once. Love the setting and dressing up once and awhile but make sure you have the cash to spend. Loved the maple baconbeernuts & The Elvis is a perfect finish.
One of my favorite bars to go to in downtown. It's a spectacle to behold with dark corners and intimate spaces. Love seeing the absinthe fairy darting about serving absinthe.
We just love the craftiness of the absinthe cart. A cute little green fairy, flossed out with wings and glitter, pushes around the cart and sells vials of the wormwood spirit on special nights. En savoir plus
Old-fashion cocktails and vibe. Absinthe fairy + cart! So cool. Make sure to read their dress code and adhere to it! If going with a group, it's best to call ahead and make a reservation.
One of my favorite bars in LA. If you like Boardwalk Empire you must visit this bootlegger type bar underground at LA's first power plant built in 1910, make sure to get an absinth from the fairy!
"Celebrates an era of invention & imagination-the blending of science, art, and industry." Make reservations & dress to impress; embrace the roaring 20's style.
Awesome decor, well-crafted cocktails, old movies playing on the walls...what's not to love? Oh, perhaps the $10 cover that they've now started charging on weekends.
The Edison is over 100 years old! The "Brass Furnace" is my favorite libation. Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Fresh Grapefruit Juice and Bitters. Basically, the 4 food groups :)
It's hot out have on nice shorts, shirt,n tie. Seeing a nola style band, can't come in bc no shorts allowed. Fucking stupid snobby LA. The townhouse in Venice is more legit then this faux trendy spot
Experience the nightlife, 1920s-style! Check out one of downtown LA’s most unique bars and make sure you glam up, as this bar has a dress code. But don’t forget to slip a camera in your pocket!
A 1920's Martini at 1920's prices every Thurs from 5-7pm at this classy bar. One of the few spots downtown with such a deal, they prohibits sneakerscasualclothes, so grab a collared shirt. En savoir plus
Venue: Fun and unique. 20s speakeasy meets steam punk. Bar: Ok. People: No real dress code or face control. Expected much better but still a cool place.
On Halloween night the Edison resurrects the Dark Spirit of Halloween Past, featuring an otherworldly gathering of diabolical attractions and apparitions from across the globe.
Make reservations if you want a place to sit and dress to impress, the cocktails are epic and the atmosphere is the best you can find anywhere in LA. Haven't gone here yet? Just go!
$10 to get in and a minimum of $50 worth of orders per person if you want to get a table. There's a strict dress code so don't be shy to dress to the nines.
These absinthes are on their menu - Clandestine, Kubler, Lucid, Matahari (yuck), Pernod,St. George, Vieux Carre. Does anyone know what else they have there? Maybe Jade 1901?
This lounge inside an early 1900s power plant serves handcraftedcocktails, an amazing selection of gins and snacks like lobster-sausage corn dogs with mustardcrème fraîche.
NEVER MISS Radio Room - a showcase of the world's most talented barmen and women! No matter when it is scheduled, who is scheduled, or which drinks are scheduled - you will be glad that you did!
No worries, this power company’s a lot better than the one bugging you for the bill at the end of the month. Plunk yourself on an old leather couch and treat yourself to an Edison Light Beer. Get it?
Beautiful redesigned former power plant turned bar combining Art Nouveau and Industrial Gothic architectural styles. Go on a Wednesday so you can catch Lucent Dossierperforming.
I love the absinthe fountain/fairy. It is very cool decor. There are gigantic lightbulbs all over the place. We had our engagement celebration here. I also recommend Lucent Dossier.
It doesn't get any yummier than the Edison for a night on the town! Its vintage swankychic industrial decor & saucy vibe are guaranteed to seduce. Find a little corner & get lost in the scene....
Beautiful and romantic. A great building. Must go on Wednesday night for Lucant Dossier. A great feel throughout the place. Peeps swinging "Cirque du Soleil" style. -Julie Kwon, Launch My Line
AMAZING industrial location. Crazy b&w silent movies play on pretty much every wall, the finger food is SUPER deelish and the DJ plays terrif music :) LOVE this spot~
Sure -- you'll dress up for a classy evening in this historic hotspot, but the stiff drinks and live music on Wednesday nights will have you loosening your tie or letting down your hair. En savoir plus
This place is gorgeous but a little past its prime. Best to get there early to avoid hoochie mama crowd. Tuna tartar is delicious, fried chicken not so much. Underwhelming wine list.
Every so often Miss Dakota performsburlesque show with Big Willies Burlesque ... She also teaches & conducts burlesque bachelorette parties Missdakota.com
Their dress code doesn't leave room for leather Italian sneakers or chucks alike. If you take pictures of the interior you will be harassed. So the place is uptight with lots of rules but it sure look
The Edison is a world class lounge that retains architectural... and mechanical artifacts; an homage to its history as the first private power plant in Downtown Los Angeles. Created by Andrew Meieran and Marc Smith.(Plus d'informations)
