    Be sure to schedule a tour through the office of your representative. You get to skip the lines and get a customized tour with an intern, who may one day be your Senator!

    Free tours that leave quite often. If its high season, try to reserve online beforehand. The tour is about 40 mins and 100% worth it.

    Instead of avoiding the Capitol when there's a security threat (really, how are you going to know this before hand?), try to not BE the security threat. I.e. No prohibited items..they're posted online

    Try to avoid coming on a day when there has been a security threat. It slows tours down dramatically.
