I've been buying the eggplant dip from Theo's Deli for 20 years. It's brilliant. And the dim sims are legendary. Also love Fritz donuts.
The market itself puts anything in Sydney to shame, but the best part are the many options for quick bites of food. The $1 oyster shots are my favourite.

The peppered kangaroo from The Chicken Pantry (stall 85 in the deli hall) is amazing. Get some of the bull boar sausage while you're there.
The guy here KNOWS his stuff. Ask him for a bit of knowledge if you're stuck - he's lovely!

Beautiful old, gothic convent on the banks of the Yarra turned into a community farm and centre. Great little food places too. One of my favourite spots in Melbourne. Best visited on a weekend.
Best vegetarian food in Melbourne. A plethora of vegan gluten-free and raw options. Even better, this is a place where people who AREN'T gluten-free or vegan will be happy.
