Best sushi in town I believe. When Ayako of Tokyo closed down at the Biltmore I thought I'd never find a suitable replacement. An incredible menu with plenty of fresh fish available. UCC Coffee rocks!

The entire menu is just awesome but this THE place to go in Phoenix for fresh, quality sushi. Try the Sukuei Tofu - Rich, silky umami flavor. Umami heaven. Just enough salt to accent the umami, then goes away. How do you cook asparagus so that it melts in your mouth?
The quality of the fish here is amazing. Definitely a treat to sit at the bar and watch them work their magic. Take a chance and ask for some off-menu recommendations, too.
The miso dressing is the best for your salad.Also, make a point to sit at the sushi bar, great conversation opportunities and new friendships waiting for you there!
On a menu full of delicious, my very favorite thing is Umi No Sachi Salad, spring mix piled high with fresh tuna, salmon & octopus and tossed with a tangy ginger dressing.- Try the Onsen Tamago - A masterpiece of cuisine. Delicate egg bathed (onsen style) with delicate broth and drops of oj.
- Try the Sea bass - perfect balance of bitter, sour, sweet, salty, umami and texture, done up in a colorful spray of the best fruit of the ocean!
- Try the Ribeye Steak - Mid rare perfectly cooked with lotus root, okra and squash. Wowow. Batting 1000 tinight!!!
- Try the Fried Sole (Potato Starch) - Moist and light. Fried skeleton awaits on the bottom for your last bites.
- Definitely get the miso ramen!It's been revamped and is soooo much better now.This is an absolutely fantastic place to have a birthday dinner btw.
- Try the Kaki - Fried oyster. Omg. This is the famous panko style. Plus sauce = perfection.
- Try the Uni-Nigiri - Let the chef have choice and you might be served life-changing-level uni-nigiri
- Try the Toro - 4 days after arrival, the oil oozes and glistens. This is toro nirvana.

Sure the sushi is great, but have the Hana salad and it might be your new reason to come here - fresh avocado slices, premium slices of parmesan cheese with pine nuts in an AMAZING dressing. Hi Lori
just ask Koji-San to make whatever he wants. you will never regret it, just make sure it comes with FRESH wasabi (its awesome). also: sweet republic ice cream!- Try the Vanilla-Wasabi ice cream at Hana from Sweet Republic. Delish and local. It's also BYOB here. The sushi rolls are super fresh, the Vegas is my favorite.- Try the ikura nigiri - Squid not chewy, perfectly moist, delicate, Japanese mint leaf, carrot garish. FTW.
- Try the Okonomiyaki - It pays to be mayor... appetizer size okonomiyaki. Wowow.
- Try the Blue Fin Tuna - Freshly delivered this afternoon. I get the first cut of the best part... Belly!!!

Michelle JungMars 6, 2011Yay, finally found a place that has the yummy items I ate as a kid in Japan...so happy! Try everything!- Try the Scallop Sashimi - Scallop garish with Japanese mint leaf and mizuhosho (think lime zest on crack)
- Never hurts to ask for things not on the menu. I asked for takoyaki each time I went in and now they have it! Give it a try!
- Try the Blue Fin Tuna Sashimi - If the world ended today it'd be o.k.
