Michael Del Camp: This is a rather nice, welcoming downtown public library off Monument Square. It is a focus of the community, and happens to be next door to Portland High School. City counselors approved funding it.
Michael Del Camp: I have always enjoyed visiting the legendary rocky coastline of Maine, at this location on the ocean. You get a feel for nature, but this is no beach.
Michael Del Camp: Very limited parking, as this is a neighborhood beach, quite small, and near both Portland Headlight and the former GE facility for manufacturing, which Jack Welch closed. Coast Guard station nearby.

Michael Del Camp: Drive it, bike it, hike it, or once upon a time, sailboard it in a wet suit. Baseball and softball parks are nearby, with small arboretum of labeled trees. City skyline, Hannaford grocery, close-by.
Michael Del Camp: Typical large shopping mall, near Airport. Plenty of parking, variety of stores and satellite strip malls and mall restaurants. Plenty of walking. Nice job decorating the place seasonally. Commerce.
Michael Del Camp: If you have a "green thumb," like birds, plants, gift cards or just shopping for knick knacks in a pleasant and customer friendly environment, try Skillins. Nearby shopping, Walmart, Movie Theater.
Michael Del Camp: State Parks are found throughout the State of Maine. Season tickets are sold, or you can buy 1-day entrance year-round, where admission applies. Campsites go fast, so now is the time to check website.

Michael Del Camp: Tony DiMillo once told me, all he wanted was to sell drinks, but people kept asking for food and, before he knew it, he was running a full service restaurant. Scenic water views, prices a bit upscale.
