Main tip? Avoid Gatwick. It's a shambles of an airport. You'd be better off landing at Bristol and hitching.
Baggage reclaim u have to have coins for a trolley ridiculous considering how many foreigners come for the first time not a good way to welcome money spending tourists !

The croissants in Costa at the north terminal aren't fresh.

The Polish attendant has taken my bag because it was an inch too big. That is easyjet meets ryanair!
Spend as little time as possible here - its a disgraceful airport - BAA should hang their heads in shame at the lack of cleaners and general positive vibe!

A lot of building work going on, great big queue at passport control and it took ages to get to baggage hall.
Shame no available power outlets to charge phones. It will be embarrassing to get to the gate and show the BA boarding pass on their app... Or not...

Free WiFi? Nah, not in this Third World airport. CheapoAir means long Q's, few checkin staff and excess luggage charges.
Gatwick express is unreliable and the staff are homophobic - just heard a member of staff say "he runs like a poof"!
