Make sure you have your front license plate if you park in the long term parking lots. Been ticketed by LA cops for not having it many times.
BruceJuillet 27, 2013This is by far the dirtiest, smelliest and crappiest airport I have ever been in. The Tri state airport in Huntington Wva is 100% better than this giant port o potty. Get it together LA.
Great check-in experience at American with easy access to security for Priority and TSA pre-check.
Purchase a membership with Clear for expedited access. So worth it.

If ever you have the choice, fly in and out of Burbank instead
It's big it's slow it's worth getting priority upgrade to avoid the lines, it has decent shopping but the gates can be a long walk. The quality of the terminal depends on the airline you fly though.
The rental car return is usually pretty far from the airport so buffer an hour for traffic between return center and the airport during rush hour!

TBIT has no pre check line and the security check line can be quite long. If you have pre check use terminal 4 instead and use the quick pre check land there.
Terminal 3 expansions and refresh of Terminal 4 are a huge improvement that make LAX an airport ready for the future.

Spend the extra $35 when checking in....ask for the special "Pants Optional Deal". It's so comfortable flying without those constricting pants!

In-N-Out is only a 15 min walk from the Uber/Lyft pick up lot.
Get here earlier than usual for a red-eye flight. There may be less people flying, but there are also less people on staff. Only one security line open at midnight.
LAX needs a serious facelift. However the International Terminal is pretty good and Customs is SUPER fast and efficient...unlike JFK.
Virging america is the best airline carrier in US. Great airplanes and helpful staff.

Zack WilliamsDécembre 18, 2022Compared to some other int’l airports it is a bit of a mish-mash. No railway/light transit connect means traffic is awful. Staff on the other hand are a revelation all mainly friendly and helpful.
Probably one of the most disorganized airports in the western hemisphere. Get in and out as quickly as you can!
Party on at the Delta terminal! Lots of usb power jacks and good eats.. But more space for pre-flight drinks might be nice!

Southwest terminal was never a great place to wait, but it's worse now with construction. If you have time to kill, do it before going thru security.
American Terminal has a Real Food now. Great juice and plant based options
Bill MichelNovembre 19, 2013If you have to leave from Gate 1 or 2 in Terminal 1 (SW Air), bring some sort of entertainment. They both look like sets from a prison movie and are removed from the other gates with no windows or TVs
RexSeptembre 3, 2017No free wifi before customs. Terminals are not connected by train, just by shuttle bus (for now), making connections tricky. Lyft and Uber pickups are a nightmare. Fly into another LA airport
if you're in Delta Terminal 2 and want to get to Terminal 3, take the shuttle bus near gate 22A.
If in Terminal3 (virgin america) stop by gladstone's for the catch of the day. Todays special - Mahi Mahi in Ponzu sauce wrapped in Banana leaves! Awesome!
AmandaNovembre 18, 2012LAX takes a little longer to get through than most airports so for a safe measure of time be sure to get here 2 hours before departure.
