Pastas are as authentically Roman as you can get! Cacio, Carbonara, Chitarra, etc. and anything with the roasted suckling pig/fish is a gift from heaven. Beets are beautiful and save room for dessert!

Pricey but everything we ate was delicious. Once you consider that it's a no tipping restaurant, it becomes less pricey. Loved the spicy tripe, the porchetta sandwich and the papardelle carbonara.

Love Maialino, but think it's better for brunch or a cocktail than it is for dinner. Standout bring items include the cacio e Pepe eggs and the unbelievable sausage.

The contadino is the way to go. Served on a bed of roasted corn, cherry tomatoes and jalapeños, this is one of the best egg dishes I've ever had. The patate and pomodori sides go great with this dish.

The breakfast at Maialono is great. Cappuccino is excellent and I alternate between the Contadino and the Currant Pecan Granola with Yogurt and Fruit

What black magic has Danny Meyer performed to create a brunch this perfect? Order exactly this: pastry basket for the table, cacio e pepe with fat slabs of bacon for you, and an Aperol Spritz or four.

Roman cuisine with fresh ingredients. Sit at the bar for a view of Gramercy Park out the window. One bartender during weekday lunch means slower service, but it's Italian. Take your time.

The perfect nice but not-too-fancy Italian restaurant. The pastas are solid & well-portioned. My surprise favorite was the Spaghetti Vongole- the clams were HUGE and juicy. The Malfatta is also great.

Great authentic Italian food. Elegant but not too formal. Serious wine list. Try the little pig, any fresh pasta. Try their private room where they serve family style meal (shared plates).

papardelle alla bolognese has a great flavor. I love the sauce on the malfatti but the suckling pig is a little too gamy for my liking. the bruschetta is great to share, as is the olive oil muffin.

Gluten-Free Pasta ---> Chef Nick Anderer's kitchen always has a few gluten-free pastas available (one of which is usually house-made) & can pair any of them w. whichever sauce you want.

What to Order: The cold-brew coffee is made fresh daily, but a classic Italian Shakerado is also a good bet: Espresso and raw simple syrup are shaken over ice and garnished with an orange slice.
