Hidden gem. Owner, Jesse, is very friendly and eager to share his knowledge of coffee. His pourover from Kenya-sourced beans (peach and chocolate) was the best I had in Montreal. Also: electric organ!
They make pourovers from P&S beans in larger batches. Had only Bolivian coffee at the time (lime notes with burned vanilla finish). It was good, but not exceptional. Their croissants are AH-MAZING!
Asked for a pour over and got served Bow & Arrow roast from Tanzania. It was earthy with strong citrus notes, with a very pleasant nose. Perhaps a tad too watery. Croissant was also really tasty.
Ordered chemex from Kenya-sourced beans they roast in Montreal. Coffee was smooth with strong cherry flavours, perhaps a bit too watery. Almond croissant is a heart attack in a pretty package.
Good cortado properly served in mustard glasses. Their surprise filtered coffee sourced from Ethiopia wasn't as good - it had uninteresting nose and a weird "empty" taste. Also, croissants.
Expect artisanal coffee and you will be disappointed. Still, they have good lattes and cappuccinos and amazing pastries. Unfortunately by 2 PM, when I got there, they've already run out of croissants.
Made a mistake of ordering filtered coffee here. It had a charcoal taste typical for overroasted beans. OTOH baristas were very friendly and even recommended me a great coffee shop - L'Artiste Affamé.
