Michael Fuchs: Not to be missed in CDMX. This is THE place to learn about Mexica culture. The area offers much more than you‘ll see from the outside and the museum has outstanding exhibits.

Michael Fuchs: Who would‘ve thought this rather repulsing building harbours such treasures? I was surprised to find a botanical garden inside and such a well done museum on Benito Juárez.

Michael Fuchs: Small market but highly interesting. The vendors sell anything from rabbit and goat to grasshoppers and scorpions. Although quite a few tourists find their way here, it still has an authentic feel.
Michael Fuchs: Our 8 people motor boat started from Celestún beach. The 1,5 hr tour took us to the flamingos, a channel through the mangroves & a cenote for swimming. Just for the flamingos it was well worth it.
Michael Fuchs: Excellent food and the best salad I‘ve had in Mexico. The location and service are somewhat pretentious but at least you get what you‘re paying for.
Michael Fuchs: Perfect place for lunch if you return starving from the arqueological zone in Dzibilchaltún like we did. Really hard to find, though. Look for the iconic flag.

Michael Fuchs: An excellent Italian, a little too pretentious to be authentic but the service was impeccable. Try the Tropicana cocktail done with Mezcal – that was quite a discovery.
Michael Fuchs: This place was the perfect retreat for our tours in and around Mérida. Due to the many plants in the atrium and the painted hotel walls, it felt like an oasis. Also the room was spacious and quiet.
Michael Fuchs: Reminds me of the typical unpretentious restaurant you can find everywhere in Italy where the focus lies on great food and hospitality. It’s not only very authentic, on top it‘s cosy and romantic.
Michael Fuchs: Saw an excellent exhibition on the Mexica culture here. I had expected to see Maya exhibits as well. The museum official told me those pieces were all moved to the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya.

Michael Fuchs: Though located in a shopping mall this small bistro turned out to serve surprisingly good food and smoothies. I love how they put attention to every little detail in a not so inviting surrounding.
Michael Fuchs: I‘d call it the small Chichén Itzá. Not as impressive but with its own attractions, e.g. the walkable Caracol, a Castillo you‘re allowed to climb and a unique floor painting.
Michael Fuchs: A very tranquil and beautiful place run by a welcoming family. Being an Eco-Hotel services here are basic. They only serve breakfast, but a delicious one. I would‘ve wished for a bigger pool, though.
Michael Fuchs: After Chichén Itzá maybe the most impressive ruins on the Yucatán peninsula. Therefore very crowded. Come early or late but keep in mind they kick you out by 5pm.
Michael Fuchs: My favourite restaurant in Bacalar. The good-humoured team makes you feel right at ease. Their food (and Margharita) was delicious. In Bacalar you have to look hard for quality. Here you get it.

Michael Fuchs: Who would‘ve thought a burger without meat would taste that good? Came here for lunch and early dinner (they close at 9pm) and always enjoyed the food and the laguna view. Try the cookies as well!
Michael Fuchs: Didn’t regret coming here and enjoyed the easy roundtrip through the ruins. What you‘ll definitely want to see is the mouth gate. It‘s unique in style and degree of conservation.
Michael Fuchs: It’s simple but spacious cabins in the Yucatán forest with a surprisingly good cuisine. Still 1 hr drive to Calakmul but you don‘t get any closer than this. Try the espresso flan.
