Never thought that vegan food could taste so good. Definitely recommend this place, food is full of flavor and loved the way it is decorated.

I'm a life-long vegetarian from Raleigh, North Carolina. Needless to say I've had my share of vegan soul food. But this place is by far the best I've ever tried. Not just in Oakland, in the world!

Southern fried tofu plate with okra gumbo and grits, and the combo plate. Best vegan meal in the Bay Area so far.

Vegan chicken fried steak - mac-cheese ... enough said..well, okra, their sauces, cake, bbq tofu...ok everything on the menu is awesome

Three item combo is two meals at least. My favorite combination is the BBQ tofu, mac n' cheese, and corn bread. Also try the soju cocktails!

The southern fried tofu and mac are killer. Forget the vegan label baggage, this is just good food.

I tried the southern fried tofu, yams and cornbread. It was AMAZING! Very filling. I could eat here every day!

Okra gumbo was excellent. A bit too spicy. But order a beer and it will help it wash it down excellently.

Amazing new menu options. I saw a smothered biscuit, spaghetti and a tofu bowl, and I wished I hadn't just ordered the regular.

Faves are the potato salad, BBQ tofu, Mac n cheese and southern fried tofu. No clue how they make it all vegan, but it's delicious.

Vegan soul food. Seitan chick n waffles is edible but would not come again. Cornbread and biscuits with gravy are so dense and not good.

Don't get me wrong, love this place, it's food, and people, but you don't have "cocktails" because you don't have actual liquor, and charging $9 for a measly bowl of grits is absurd. AVOID THE BOWL
