Robert Stroud, "The Birdman of Alcatraz" spent 17 years in cell #42. Segregated from the prisoners, he turned to birds for company. He was the inspiration for the 1962 movie starring Burt Lancaster.

From the right side of the parking area, there is a great vantage of the Golden Gate Bridge. Get low and try to capture one of the rusty chains in the foreground with the bridge in the background.
Go to the top (top right) corner of the park for some of the best views of the city.
Try the local eateries in the Marina. Almost as close as the cafe in Bldg A.
