In misty weather, these beech trees are amazingly spooky. You'll find them hard to photograph unless you come early in the morning as your shot will be spoilt by the crowds trying to do the same.
The trees have been used as a filming location in HBO's epic series Game of Thrones, representing the King's Road. In season 2 episode 1, Arya Stark, disguised as a boy, travels down the road.
The trees were planted by the Stuart family in the 18th century, as a landscape feature to impress visitors to their home, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, they remain a magnificent sight.
A must visit for any Game of Thrones fan while in Northern Ireland. Park your car at either end of the road and enjoy the amazing walk under the dark hedges
There's an area to pullover and park the car, if you're coming from B15 (from the east), right before the bend. I think the best views are also from that side (looking northwest).
Visitors are advised to park in the nearby hotel and walk down the lane, rather than driving down, which is causing damage to the verges, and spoiling the photo opportunities for visitors. En savoir plus
