The Jameson Uptown Ginger was awesome. The staff was great. The vegetarian combination dinner was delicious. I won't wait so long for my next visit. It's a must when you visit Harlem.

Elevated Ethiopian food matches the sleek environs at this uptown eatery, featuring a crisp white dining room, warmly lit by candles and an elegant chandelier. En savoir plus

This cozy spot offers dishes such as Yebeg Aticha (lamb marinated with ginger and rosemary spices) and Zoma Tibs (cubed filet mignon pieces marinated in green peppers and red onions).

Skip the meat dishes and go straight for the vegetarian items (this is coming from an avid meat eater). The shiro wett was my personal favorite.

Had the vegetarian combo. Delicious as usual. I first went there in 2009 and go at least once a year. I definitely need to go at once a season.

Ethiopian coffee is quite bitter, the sugar cubes were a critical need for its enjoyment. The big platter with bread and assorted foods is recommended, good for sharing.

Really flavorful and seasoned well. The samplers are a good way to go.

The tilapia and the veggie sampler for two are both great. I also recommend the lentil sambusa appetizer. Top it all off with a glass of honey wine.

Vegetarian combination had only 4 dishes, they could have added a few more. The lamb dish was phenomenal.

The combination platters are marvelously complex. The tej, an Ethiopian-style honey wine, is made by Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, N.Y., the oldest winery in the U.S. - Inspector

Ethiopian food looks like baby food but tastes pretty good. It's best when spicy. It's traditionally eaten with your hands, but I say to hell with tradition and ask for a fork. You'll be glad you did!

The kitfo and the yebeg alitcha are incredible. The biggest surprise was the exquisite tiramisu.

You can order a two-veggie two-meat combination platter. Do that and the honey wine.

Modern Ethiopian dishes are glammed up at Zoma, where the decorations show off African jewelry and bright fabrics.

Good food, though a tad overpriced. Try a combo platter for variety, and eat the sambusas as an appetizer.
