Simply put: best tapas in town. Do prepare for a wait, as there are only 23 stools at the bar and this place takes no reservations! Luckily they serve drinks and nibbles in the standing area.

Ok, I have actually found a better Vietnamese, Cay Tre on Old Street. Still this is the best on Kingsland rd. recommend the Pho, beef in Betal leaves.
A very nice touch of Vietnamese food with authentic cuisine. "Phở" (Beef noodle soup) and "Bún thịt nướng" (BBQ Pork Loin with Rice Vermicelli) are winners! Really good value for money, excellent food

The venison scotch egg was lovely. Roast beef was also pretty good but not sure if it was Michelin Star level. The service is a little bit slow and could be improved.
The more adventurous diner should love this old ham and bacon smokehouse - sweetbreads, bone marrow, tongue, cheek and trotters all make an appearance on the menu, as well as whole roast suckling pig!
Best place for tea and cake. The cream in the cakes is nothing short of wonderful.

Formerly ST ALi of Australia, so you know they make great coffee. No flat white on the menu but the latte is gorgeous. They also roast their beans on site.
Go early or book in advance - we were lucky to grab a table at 6pm. Rose veal Wellington was absolutely gorgeous and the steak pie with marrow bone resplendent in the centre was amazing too!
For me, the best of the restaurants from the Gordon Ramsay stable, despite holding "only" 1 Michelin star compared to 3 at RGR Hospital Road. Superlative food, friendly service, lovely surroundings.
