The chicken batter is well seasoned; nice, buttery biscuits. But, Son. They got tiny delicious pies! Delicious. I got the apple strudel and it was delicious.
Great southern style fried chicken with a laidback Texas/south environment, southern country/rock in the background and friendly staff. The seasoning was on point :p
Although pricey the chicken is quite tasty. Another $2.50 or so u get soda (unlimited if u stay there), a biscuit and listening to endless country music as u make the most of your little meal.
The brisket is amazing, the tip is to ask for the burnt edges since the flavour is around the meat the most... So you get more of its seasoning on the edges
Fried Chicken Sando with cheese, obvi! Ask for chipotle mayo! Biscuits are awesome. Skip the fries - nothing special. Invest in the mashed potatoes instead.
The chickwich was really tasty, but was surprised to have a boned breast. Not sure if that's on purpose or not. Next expect that in a chicken sandwich. Still, really tasty.
The ladies at the counter are friendly. My food was cold when I received it. Though I liked my food, I will not be going here again. In my opinion, it was no different than any fried chicken venue.
If you have any type of tastebuds... run away from this franchise. The chicken tastes like they put shake and bake in a bag with sugar and called it a day. No FLAVOR. ATALL
For a "chicken" place the chicken is pretty terrible. You're better off a KFC for less than half the price or stick to the pies and boylans soda fountain.
It's pretty bad. The chicken had been under a heat way too long. Nothing was fresh. The dining room was dirty. It's a dirty, nasty place. Don't waste your money.
Hill Country Chicken is inspired by Marc Glosserman's childhood memories and his passion for the Texas-style home cooking of his mother and grandmothers, Betty and Momma Els - hearty, crave-able comfort food served lovingly, casually and unpretentiously by people with big smiles on their faces.
