Johnny Wang: (4/5) Local chain specializing in a variety of Chinese (and largely HK) desserts. The menu is massive, so try whatever you want, but the mango sago is certainly tasty!
#01-07 Maxwell Food Centre (1 Kadayanallur St.), Singapour
Restaurant Hainan · Financial District · 32 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (3/5) Hawker stall next to Tian Tian serving up boneless, skinless Hainan chicken rice that tastes pretty similar, albeit somewhat less flavorful. Priced the same, but also comes with a bowl of soup.
Johnny Wang: (3.5/5) Hawker stall inside a small food court known best for their namesake noodles and the uncle's incredible voice projection. Fried wantons are small, but tasty, and the char siu is super legit.
Espace de restauration · Chinatown · 323 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (3/5) Decent food center with a good selection of hawker stalls, but is dirty and cramped, can get pretty hot and stuffy, and is also a little difficult to navigate.
Johnny Wang: (3/5) Located near a bunch of affordable housing, and frequented mostly by locals, Haig Road is far less shiny and pristine, but is host to a lot more unique, local, and largely Halal eats.
Johnny Wang: (2/5) Small food center that lacks any real notable hawker stalls aside from Sungei Road Laksa, which alone isn't really worth coming out of your way for.
#01-01/02, Riverside Point (30 Merchant Rd), Clarke Quay, Singapore
Johnny Wang: (4/5) Get the chili crab! Mud crab (freshwater) if you like big, meaty claws; Dungeness (saltwater) if you want sweeter meat. Comes plated if you sit outside, and in a metal pot if you sit inside.
Restaurant chinois · Chinatown · 82 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (4.5/5) A slightly pricy, cash-only restaurant serving up a bevy of local Singaporean dishes. Get there earlier as popular dishes sell out, but absolutely be sure to try the prawn bee hoon/hor fun!
Johnny Wang: (4/5) Spacious, clean(er), and neatly organized, with plenty of seating and fans to try to keep the heat at bay. Sit towards the outside if you want to stay cooler though!
#02-31 Tiong Bahru Market & Food Centre (30 Seng Poh Rd.), Singapour
Restaurant asiatique · Central Region · 8 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (2/5) Popular hawker stall whose more popular dishes do sell out. The pork ribs were deliciously tender, and the broth was tasty, but the overall dish wasn't particularly notable otherwise.
Johnny Wang: (4/5) A local favorite that started out as a hawker stall and grew into much more. Specializes in a variety of seafood, but their white pepper crab is worth trying! Pricier than Jumbo, however.
Johnny Wang: (5/5) Hawker stall inside a small food court serving up nothing else but this amazingly delicious laksa, available in three different sizes.
11 New Bridge Rd. (Upp Circular Rd, #01-01), Singapour
Johnny Wang: (3.5/5) Get their basic (first) pork rib soup for the more tender meat. A white pepper "clear" broth that's a bit heavy-handed with the MSG, but tasty, and allows for unlimited broth refills.
Gourmet Street (Coffeeshop) (27 Jalan Berseh, #01-100.), Singapour
Johnny Wang: (2.5/5) Hawker stall serving up reasonably tasty laksa made over a charcoal fire, albeit not nearly as delicious as The Original Katong Laksa in Roxy Square, which has a much bolder flavor profile.
Stall 10, Maxwell Food Centre (1 Kadayanallur St.), Singapour
Restaurant Hainan · Financial District · 125 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (3/5) Hawker stall serving up chilled Hainan chicken with bone and skin intact. Both the chicken and rice have good texture and flavor (more so the latter), but neither are particularly memorable.
Boulangerie · Central Region · 188 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (5/5) A little out of the way compared to the other branches, but this cute little bakery is home to one of the best lemon tarts I've ever tried, and is alone worth coming here for.
Johnny Wang: (4/5) Hawker stall serving up some pretty tasty braised duck, with the option of having it served over rice or noodles, and with a side of soup.
Johnny Wang: (5/5) A little out of the way, but definitely my favorite food center. Cleanest and most well organized among the centers I've visited, with the huge open space allowing for far cooler temperatures.
#01-02 Mr. Teh Tarik Coffee Stall (970 Geylang Rd.), Singapour
Snack · Central Region · 27 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (3/5) Hawker stall inside the Haig Road Market selling putu piring: steamed rice cakes filled with palm sugar and topped with coconut and pandan leaves. Worth trying as something different/unique.
Restaurant d'Inde du Nord · Little India · 89 conseils et avis
Johnny Wang: (4/5) Corner restaurant in the heart of Little India serving up a large, cheap selection of Indian and Pakistani food, along with an assortment of fresh, tasty naan.
#02-135, Chinatown Complex Market & Food Centre (335 Smith Street), Singapour
Johnny Wang: (3/5) Hawker stall selling solid XLB with thin wrappers and flavorful soup that's not terribly sweet. Also offers noodles, but their dandan (spicy Sichuan) noodles are surprisingly bland.
