Don't forget, United to Newark or Houston is in Terminal 2! If you get out at the first United stop, its a long walk to the next terminal when you're carrying luggage!

If your flying out United, don't pass up a Bloody Mary at the Sports Bar next to Gate 14. Best Mary around! Order it spicy. :)

Best Tip for travelers: SHIP your luggage to your final destination via UPS or FedEx instead of dealing with the hassle of checking your bags. Makes flying a total pleasure!

Southwest terminal main boarding area has a very crowded and small men's room. Take care of business downstairs before going through security.

The Southwest terminal is small. But usually easy to get through security. Which is good since the terminal doesn’t offer many options.

Some airlines are more likely to bump passengers from flights than others. You have the best shot at staying on the plane with JetBlue, Hawaiian and Delta. American Eagle has the highest bump rate.

Terminal 2 is looking hot. New stores for Pannikan coffee, Phil's BBQ (gate 38) and Stone Brewing (by the east security gate).

Note: If a family has 1 kid but 2 adults, TSA only lets one adult through the metal detector (as opposed to scanner) at security.

SAN, dedicated in 1928, is also known as Lindbergh Field. San Diego was the city from which Charles Lindbergh began the journey that would become the first solo transatlantic flight.

Terminal 2 is exquisite and Terminal 1 is being remodeled with nice amenities. The free WiFi is below average though: difficult to log-in, slow speeds, and boots you after 30 min.

This facility is outdated, but at least I found electrical outlets near some seats at Gate 24. A few years ago, I sat on the floor with other travelers around the only outlet for 3 gates.

If you're flying to LAX your flight WILL be departing from the commuter terminal. It's a LONG walk from the main terminal to the commuter so keep that in mind....

Good news: it's small and easily accessible. Bad news: it's small and has limited facilities. Be sure to eat before you go through security if you want hot food.

Love the improved Terminal 2 with outlets at pretty much every chair. Terminal 1 (specifically Southwest gates) need to do the same.

Difficult to distinguish entry points for precheck & non-precheck. I often see folks turned away at the security podium b/c they were in the wrong line.

The rental car shuttle waiting areas are a mess. No signs to alert which part of curb a particular company will park. So even if you were waiting the longest you may not get a place on shuttle #1.

If you are at terminal 1, make sure you know your gate number before going through security: Gate 1-2 are isolated from the rest.
